A magnetic mould with vertical chambers and an insulated inductor comprises some lateral walls forming a double U profile with outer, central and inner vertical walls and a lower horizontal wall, the profile being closed in its upper portion by an inserted horizontal plate in such a manner that it forms two water chambers arranged vertically. An inductor is fixed to the vertical face of an insulating element in the form of a square, the horizontal face of which is fixed to the lower horizontal wall of the profile. The upper horizontal face of the central vertical wall has a number of grooves for the circulation of water between the pressure regulating chamber and the distribution chamber whilst a sealing joint is provided between the upper faces of the vertical walls and the upper inserted plate. USE/ADVANTAGE - The mould is used in foundries for magnetic casting. It is easy and cheap to fabricate. Simple removal of the upper horizontal plate allows ready access to the different element of the mould. Maintenance operations are rapid and do not entail complete dismantling of the mould- The inductor may be changed without dismantling the mount. The grooves that facilitate water circulation are more easily provided than circulation holes commonly applied; and the siting of the inductor ensures less disturbances to the magnetic field thus giving better operation and a gain in energy due to the increased efficiency of the inductor.
