A digital input/output module controlling the digital communication by exchanging the software corresponding to the situation is connected to a host computer of the programmable controller. A CPU (5) receives/provides the data from an input channel (40)/ to an output channel (30) with respect to the command of the host computer. An address selection switch (1), a buffer (2), a serial commnication circuit (3), and a RS-232C voltage level converter (4) are for telecommunication with the host computer.
