The device comprises a sole (5) provided under the foot and a sleeve (1) supporting around the lower leg and above the ankle. The sole and sleeve are connected by non-elastic material (strip 8,9) which together with the sleeve are separate parts and is assembled to fit the user. The sleeve is tape-like strip with a recess (2) along one of the long sides. It comprises flexible material on compsn. of materials with which it supports the ankle, and also includes a closure mechanism. The ends can then be attached to each other when the sleeve is on the leg. The closure is a hooked pile fastener material strip (7) attached to the sleeve and under the sole.
