PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of paper to each other and the rear staining thereof by generating air flow in a roller, depriving the paper of its heat by utilizing a mate rial having good heat conductivity from the inside wall of the roller, releasing the heat from the roller and cooling and drying the toner on the paper. CONSTITUTION:The cooling roller 22 is constituted of the upper/lower rollers 16, 14. The rollers 16, 14 are made of the material consisting of a metal and having good heat conductivity. The lower roller 14 functions as a driving roller and the upper roller 16 as a driven roller. Vane-shaped members are made of the material having good heat conductivity and are provided as a heat radiating fan 15 on the inside wall 16a of the upper roller 16. The heat radiating fan 15 generates the air flow in an arrow direction when the upper roller 16 is rotated in an arrow (c) direction by the lower roller 14. The heat that the upper roller 16 receives from the paper is trans ferred from the outside surface through the inside wall 16a to the heat radiating fan 15 and the heat radiated in an arrow (e) direction is released from the aperture at the end to the outside by the air flow in an arrow (d) direction. The sure cooling effect on the outside surface of the upper roller 16 is thus obtd. even if the rotating speed of the upper roller 16 is low. |
