The centrifuged drum 1 is provided with a plate insert 5 whose riser channels 7 are connected via the riser hole 4 to the distributor 2. In the riser hole 4 of the distributor 2, an insert 9 in the form of a baffle plate 10 is arranged, the said baffle plate 10 suppressing an entrance twisting of the material to be centrifuged in the inlet area of the riser hole 4. It has been found that as a result the riser holes in the distributor, and thus also the diameter of the riser channels in the plate insert, can be made substantially smaller for the same flow speed so that it has been possible to increase the plate clarifying area available. <IMAGE> |
