PURPOSE:To remove As compounds efficiently, by contacting a gas containing a gaseous As compound with at least one metal or compound out of alkali earth metals, Mn, Cu and Zn, and fixing the As compound. CONSTITUTION:A gas containing a gaseous compound such as As2O3 and the like is contacted with at least one metal or compound of alkali earth metal oxides such as CaO, BaO, MgO, SrO and the like or alkali earth metals such as MnO, CuO, ZnO and the like, and metals such as Mn, Cu and Zn, and an As compound is fixed as a liquid or solid compound of said metals. After the As compound in the exhaust gas is solidified by said process, the exhaust gas is contacted with denitrification catalyst to prevent the catalyst from getting poisoned. |
