<p>PURPOSE:To prevent direct current from being applied to the liq. crystal display section of a liq. crystal display body by coating one of electrodes forming the display body with an insulating film so as to provide the effect of a capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A liq. crystal display device is composed of a liq. crystal substance 29 and electrode substrates 25, 26 holding the substance 29 between them, and an insulating film 30 of at least one among SiO, SiO2, TiO and TiO2 is formed on the side of one of the substrates 25, 26 contacting with the substance 29 by coating at least one among alkoxysilane [Si(OR)4], alkoxytitanium [Ti (OR)4], silicon hydroxide [Si(OH)4] and titanium hydroxide [Ti(OH)4] and by calcining or thermally decomposing it. In the resulting liq. crystal display device, direct current or DC voltage is prevented from being applied to the liq. crystal display body which is driven at AC voltage owing to the reduction of the power of a cell as a power source, the damage of an element in the driving circuit or unbalanced AC voltage.</p> |
