PURPOSE:To finely pulverize magnetic iron powder thereby to improve paint dispersibility by treating the surface of a hematite with silicon compound and/or aluminum compound, substituting absorbed water content for hydrophilic organic solvent and then returning it in a hydrogen stream at specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:The surface of acicular or spinning iron oxide is surface-treated with silicon compound and/or aluminum compound, then dispersed in hydrophilic organic solvent to substitute water content for the solvent to remove it, and reduced at 300-500 deg.C in a hydrogen stream. Since the silicon compound and/or aluminum compound coated between oxide iron particles and on the iron oxide, and absorbed water of nickel hydroxide, zinc hydroxide, cobalt hydroxide and chromium hydroxide can be removed by treating it with the solvent, it can prevent the iron oxide from being agglomerated, hydroxide group having a substance coated on the surface of the iron oxide from being inactivated, and a chemical bond due to dissolving and precipitating of substance coated on the surface from being generated. |
