PURPOSE:To obtain the titled flakes utilizable also as a feed for domestic animals, by heating and humidify a cereal raw material with superheated steam, rolling the resultant pregelatinized raw material into a flaky form, drying the flakes while heating and cooling the dried flakes. CONSTITUTION:A cereal raw material (raw soybean, etc.) is charged into a charging container 10, passed through a constant rate feeder 11 and locker valve 12, fed into a pressurized vessel 13 and then placed on the surfaces of moving conveyors 14 and 14 in equal amounts. The cereal raw material is heated and humidified with superheated steam from a steam heater 17 and pregelatinized and fed from the locker valve 12 to a flaking roll machine 22, rolled and flaked. The flaked raw material is then dried while heating and cooled in a drying and cooling machine 23 to afford the aimed flavorous flake product rich in palatability without breaking, sticking, epidermis peeling, etc. |
