The closure cap has a weakened section on which pressure from the contents is applied. The weakened section comprises a membrane (4) over an opening in the cap, covered by a screen (5) to prevent damage. The weakened section may also have a circular indentation interrupted at at least one point. The cap may have an upstanding wall (3) covered by the membrane, and a pressure sensitive member which splits when pressure in the bottle increases. This may alternatively be checked by the indentation(8) which splits on excessive pressure.
