A height adjusting device for use in a tubular leg of a workstation includes a threaded shaft (3) connected to and extending coaxial with a drive shaft (4). The drive shaft can be turned about its axis by rotational movement of an adjustment means (5) which permits relative axial sliding movement of the drive shaft so that the drive shaft (4) and the threaded shaft (3) are moved axially. A locating sleeve (11) within which the adjustment means (5) is rotatable minimises relative movement between the adjustment means (5) and a fixing nut (6) threadedly engaging the threaded shaft (3) and secured within the lower portion of the workstation leg (1). The adjustment means (5) is keyed for cooperation with an adjustment key to rotate the adjustment means about its axis. |
