A free-standing residential building for at least four parties contains at least two self-contained house units which directly border on each other laterally and each of which exhibits two separate residential units. In each house unit, each residential unit is made accessible by at least one separate entranceway and is provided with an individual, independent installation system, the axes of at least three residential units being rotated with respect to one another in each case by at least 60 DEG , and each entranceway being located in the region of that portion of the parcel of land which is assigned to the respective residential unit.
