PURPOSE:To improve the output performance and fuel-cost performance of an engine largely by deviating the central axis of a fuel injection nozzle from the central axis of a cylinder hole and positioning the central axis of a cavity in the direction of the central axis of the cylinder hole. CONSTITUTION:The central axis O2 of a fuel injection nozzle 18 is deviated from the central axis O1 of a cylinder hole 12. The central axis O3 of a cavity 16 is positioned in the direction of the central axis O1 of the cylinder hole 12 more than the central axis O2 of the fuel injection nozzle 18 on approximately a plane where both central axes O2, O1 of the fuel injection nozzle 18 and the cylinder hole 12 are positioned. The projecting length of a lip section 17 in the direction of deviation of the fuel injection nozzle 18 is formed in size longer than that of a lip section in the direction opposite to the deviation. Accordingly, fuel is further diffused and mixed, and combustion efficiency can be improved largely. |
