PURPOSE:To prevent the mixing of a different kind of recording liquids at the replenishing time of said recording liquids, by a method wherein the individual replenishing port connection parts provided to a plurality of recording liquid tanks are formed into different shapes corresponding to the kinds of recording liquids and supply ports having connection parts having shapes engageable with the corresponding replenishing ports of the recording liquid tanks are also provided to individual replenishing recording liquid tanks. CONSTITUTION:Insert grooves 12C respectively forming special shapes are provided around the injection ports 20 of recording liquid tanks 12 respectively receiving recording liquids corresponding to recording heads. An insert part 30C having the shape corresponding to the insert groove 12C of each of the recording liquid tanks 12, for example, having a long circular outer peripheral part is formed to the replenishing liquid tank 30 for replenishing the recording liquid K corresponding to the recording liquid tank 12 as the circumferential part of the supply port 31 of said tank 30 and, in replenishment, the injection port 20 of the replenishing port 12A on the side of the tank 12 is inserted in said supply port 31 and, at the same time, the insert part 30C on the side of the tank 30 is engaged with the insert groove 12C to provide a replenishable state for the first time. Therefore, it is prevented that replenishing liquid having a different color is injected in the objective recording liquid tank by error. |
