PURPOSE:To easily detect light from wide angle directions by a small size, light weight and simple construction by using a fiber condenser wherein the end faces of a number of optical fibers are spherically arranged. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of optical fibers 2 are supported on the spherical surface of a supporting sphere 1 such that the end faces of one end portions of the optical fibers 2 are supported at equal spacings and coincide with the tangential plane of the spherical surface of the supporting sphere 1. The other end portions of the fibers 2 are bundled and led out from the supporting sphere 1 as a fiber bundle 3. When a light detector is located on the end face of the fiber bundle 3 of a fiber condenser 4 formed as above, the intensity of light from wide angle directions can be easily measured without changing the position of the fiber condenser 4. Thus, the light from the wide angle directions can be easily detected by a small size, light weight and simple construction. |
