Power controller

The power controller is used for supplying electrical power in a controllable manner to a load, preferably to the heating element of a hotplate. It has a power switch, a bimetallic device which is heated as a function of the connected power, and a manual adjusting device for selecting the power range. According to the invention, the bimetallic heating device is constructed in the form of a tube which can be plugged onto the supporting shaft, consists of insulating material and carries a heating resistor which is in close thermal contact with the bimetallic device. <IMAGE>
