PURPOSE:To achieve a quantitative measurement of corrosion of steel material in a concrete accurately by a method wherein a testing electrode terminal is connected to the steel material and then, a portable electrode having a collation electrode and an opposed electrode is made to contact the surface of the concrete along the steel material sequentially to measure a natural potential, a polarization resistance and a liquid resistance. CONSTITUTION:A testing electrode terminal 4 of a steel material corrosion inspecting device 1 is connected to an exposed part of a steel material 3 in a concrete 2 and a potential difference (called as natural potential) is measured between the steel material 3 and the collation electrode 13 on the surface of the concrete with a portable type electrode section 5 having the collation electrode 13 and an opposed electrode 14 contacting the surface of the concrete along the steel material 3 sequentially. At the same time, a polarization resistance and a liquid resistance are measured with a triple electrode type corrosion monitor 6. The portable type electrode section 5 has a lower lid 12 made of a porous material closing the bottom of a bottomless container 10 and filled with an electrolyte 11 such as a KCl aqueous solution between the lower lid 12 and an upper lid 9. A liquid feeding/air bleeding tube 8 is provided and the lower lid 12 is put tight on the surface of the concrete 2. When it is not used, the bottom is closed with a lower cap 16. Thus, a quantitative measurement of the corrosion state and rate of the steel material can be done accurately by determining three electrochemical characteristic values. |
