A device for distinguishing radiation energy exhibits an A/D converter for converting the radiation energy signal into a digital signal. A memory circuit is provided with an address structure which corresponds to the digital energy output signals from the A/D converter. Each address structure is associated with a memory area. The memory circuit stores a first data signal in accordance with the address of the radiation energy to be measured and a second data signal in accordance with the other address. In this manner, the memory circuit can distinguish between the output signals of the A/D converter whether these fall within the desired energy range. <IMAGE>
