PURPOSE:To suppress foaming in crosslinking and to obtain the titled foam containing fine closed cells having uniform size, by molding an expandable sheet comprising a composition consisting of propylene resin, crosslinking auxiliary, etc., and carrying out crosslinking reaction by irradiation of ionizing radiation. CONSTITUTION:(A) 60-99wt% crystalline propylene resin which is a propylene homopolymer or a copolymer of propylene and <=15mol% other alpha-olefin and has 0.1-50g/10min melt flow rate and optionally (B) 5-30wt% alpha-olefin resin selected from 1-butene polymer having >=70mol% 1-butene content, etc., are blended with (C) 0.1-5wt% crosslinking agent, (D) 0.01-0.2wt% radical generator and (E) 0.5-5wt% blowing agent, molded into a sheet at a temperature not to decompose the component E, irradiated with ionizing radiation to crosslink the components A and B and molded while heating to give foam. |
