PURPOSE:To obtain high foam pressure and electronic insulation by forming an electrolyte holding matrix with the first layer mainly comprising silicon carbide and the second layer mainly comprising tantalum pentaoxide or niobium pentaoxide which has smaller mean particle size than silicon carbide. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte holding matrix 6 is formed with the first layer 4 mainly comprising silicon carbide and the second layer 5 mainly comprising at least one of tantalum pentaoxide and niobium pentaoxide. Tantalum pentaoxide or niobium pentaoxide has the same corrosion resistance as silicon carbide and excellent electronic insulation than silicon carbide. High foam pressure and electronic insulation are obtained by the second layer constituted with fine particles. The first layer 4 is constituted with silicon carbide having larger particle size such as 1-20mum, thereby proper mechanical strength of the matrix and sufficient penetration rate of electrolyte are provided. |
