PURPOSE:To reduce the man-hour for assembling work and to increase the strength of the joint, by providing a circumferential groove or projected part to the outer peripheral surface of a flange made of a metallic material and fitting this flange to one end of a cylindrical body together with joining both into one body by means of either cold forging or ironing work. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum-alloy-manufactured metallic tube 20, whose outer peripheral surface is coated with a lubricant, and an aluminum-manufactured flange 7, whose outer peripheral surface is provided with an annular grove 7a, are set in a hydraulic press, and the flange 7 is inserted into one end of the metallic tube 20. Next, the press is placed in action, and a part of the metallic tube 20 bites into an annular groove 7a of the flange 7, while the tube 20 is in rotation and expansion. Accordingly, it becomes possible to reduce the man-hour for assembling work and to increase the strength of the joint, thereby enhancing the reliability of the product.
