PURPOSE:To improve the width expansion state of a product by combining two or more materials having different thermal expansion coefficients in the cross section direction, utilizing a shaft with its curved shape changed by temperature, and varying the curvature and shape of each portion. CONSTITUTION: A web 1 is wound without wrinkles by inserting an expander 4 between turn rolls 2, 3. A shaft is formed into the pipe-shaped bimetal structure combined with two types of materials 5, 6 having different thermal expansion coefficients, and a heater 7 is inserted in its core. The shaft 11 of an expander roll is made of a raw material with its curved degree varied by temperature, multiple heater groups are buried in its core, thus forming a wiring group 12. Multiple rotors 13 are provided on the shaft 11, and the outside is covered with a rubber cylinder 14. Both ends of the rubber cylinder 14 are fixed by stoppers 15, and the stoppers 15 are rotated around the shaft 11 together with the rubber cylinder 14. |
