PURPOSE:To uniformize the thickness of slab to be cast by arranging as bendable the long wall side casting coil composing a mold for electromagnetic field casting and arranging the mechanism bending the coil in this long wall side casting coil. CONSTITUTION:The electromagnetic field casting apparatus is composed of the electromagnetic field casting coils 1, 5 of each one pair of the long wall sides and short wall sides arranged water cooling jacket 6 and the casting coil 1 of the long wall side is composed as bendable by variable arm 2. At the time of casting the slab, the casting coil 1 is held as straight line by the variable arm 2 at the initial stage of the casting. Next, as the casting progresses, the center part of the casting coil 1 is stretched by the variable arm 2 and the slab is produced as bending the coil 1. In this way, the thickness of the slab to be cast is uniformized. |
