PURPOSE:To convert Kana (Japanese syllabary) to Kanji (Chinese character) efficiently, by storing selection information of synthesized words, which are conversion candidates, as synthesis preference information and using this information preferentially for conversion of the same synthesized words inputted hereafter. CONSTITUTION:The output code from a Kana input part 1 is supplied to a Kana-Kanji conversion controlling part 2 and is converted to a Kana string and is supplied to a collating circuit 3 successively. The collating circuit 3 retrieves a word dictionary storage device 4 to output word information and gives it to the Kana-Kanji conversion controlling part 2, and a sentence where Kanji and Kana are mixed is outputted together with sets of homonyms to a conversion candidate displaying device 5. When the displayed sentences has homonyms, a corresponding word is selected from plural conversion candidates in a homonym selecting part 6 and is given to a synthesized word extracting part 7; and if it is a synthetsized word, synthesized word information is supplied to a synthesized word information storage controlling part 8. The controlling part 8 stores extracted synthesized word information as synthesis preference information into the word dictionary storage device 4. Thus, the conversion is performed efficiently. |
