PURPOSE:To provide an antistatic compsn. which gives a coating film having excellent electrical conductivity, transparency, durability and adhesion, by copolymerizing two specified (meth)acrylate compds. with a specified cationic monomer and (meth)acrylic acid. CONSTITUTION:An alkyl (meth)acrylate (e.g., methyl acrylate), cyclohexyl (meth) acrylate and/or t-butyl (meth)acrylate, a cationic monomer of the formula (wherein R<1> is H or methyl; R<2> and R<3> are each methyl or ethyl; R<4> is methyl, ethyl or benzyl; X is halogen, CH3SO4 or C2H5SO4; and n is a number of 2-4) (e.g., acryloxyethyldimethylbenylammonium chloride) and (meth)acrylic acid are dissolved in a polar solvent (e.g., methanol). The mixture is copolymerized to obtain the desired antistatic compsn.
