PURPOSE:To variably set the rotating speed of a small-sized DC motor without reducing a starting torque by switching the connection of a motor coil. CONSTITUTION:Each of coil ends 2a, 2b, 2c is respectively electrically connected with segments 1a, 1b, 1c of a commutator 1, and the other are connected with a slip ring 3 as a neutral point. A pair of brushes 4a, 4b for supplying a power and a brush 4c for supplying a power to a slip ring 3 are provided at the positions which are displaced by 180 deg. the segments 1a, 1b, 1c. A DC power source 6 is connected through a changeover switch 5 for switching the energizations of the brushes 4a, 4b and the energization of either one of the brushes 4a, 4b and the brush 4c. The rotating speed can be altered without varying a starting torque by switching the switch 5 to (a) or (b).
