PURPOSE:To prevent the permeation of groundwater by forming a cut-off layer for an outer concrete wall by a method in which bentonite powder is packed into the space between outer and inner sheathing boards, and concrete for outer wall is placed into an outside formwork and hardened, followed by embedment with soil by leaving behind the outside formwork. CONSTITUTION:A corrugated expand metal 2 is set between outer and inner plywood sheathing boards 1 and 1' by contacting its top and bottom portions with the boards 1 and 1'. The bottoms and sides of the boards 1 and 1' are closed with bottom plate 3 and side plates 4, and bentonite powder 5 is packed into the space. Outside formwork A and an inside formwork B are set in a mutually facing manner on a leveling concrete 12, and concrete C for outer wall is placed into the space. After the concrete hardens, excavated soil is embedded by leaving behind the formwork A in close contact. A multi-layered cut-off wall is formed thereby for the outer wall by utilizing the swelling property of the bentonite, thereby preventing the permeation of groundwater into cracked portions.
