<p>1,2-Thieno thiazine 2-methyl 4-oxo 3,4-dihydro 3-carboxyl 2-amino pyridine, for use as an anti-inflammatory agent, is made by (a) reacting the ethyl ester of 3-chloro- sulphonyl thiophene 2-carboxylic acid with glycerol ethyl ester to obtain the ethyl ester of 3-(N-ethoxycarbonyl ethyl sulphamoyl) thiophene 2-carboxylic acid; (b) acylating in ethanol/sodium ethylate medium to give 3-ethoxycarbonyl 4-hydroxy 2H-thieno (2,3-e)-1,2-thiazine 1,1-dioxide; (c) reacting with 2-amino pyridine in xylene under reflux, with distn. of part of the solvent for 24-36 hours, to eliminate the ethanol formed.</p> |
