PURPOSE:To enable the intention of a driver to be reflected by providing an adjusting means for adjusting the engaging speed of a clutch and making the engaging speed of said clutch higher when a travel range is set to a low speed travel range than at the time of automatic gear change range. CONSTITUTION:A selecting means (shift lever) 47 which has an automatic travel range in which traveling using the whole gear change stages of advancing gear change stages is selected, and a low speed travel range in which traveling in a low speed gear change stage is selected, is provided in a transmission having at least a clutch 5 in charge of the first gear or a backward gear change stage and a clutch 6 in charge of relatively high speed gear change stages. And, a cut valve 37 for adjusting the engaging speed of the clutches 5, 6 is provided on a hydraulic circuit connected to clutch actuators 8, 10. And, this cut valve 37 is duty controlled so as to make a clutch engaging speed higher when a low speed travel range is selected than at the time of automatic travel range, by means of a control unit 42.
