PURPOSE:To make it possible to sustain the characteristic of hydraulic pressure during no load or light load operation even though a load detecting means is damaged, by controlling the hydraulic pressure fed to a brake device in accordance with variations in the load of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Upon such abnormality that a compression spring 9, a connecting rod or the like is broken so that a link mechanism 10 is damaged, no external input is applied to a lever 18 so that a sleeve 20 is urged downward by the force of a first spring 23 while a spring retainer 20E therefor abuts against a stopper section 12B for a plug 12. Meanwhile a control piston 24 is urged upward by the force of a second spring 29, and a poppet 27 abuts against the lid section 11c of a casing body 11 so that it is in an open condition. In this condition when hydraulic pressure is fed from a master cylinder into an inflow port 13, the hydraulic pressure is fed as brake hydraulic pressure from a flow- out port 14 through a hydraulic passage.
