摘要 PURPOSE:To enable variation of the spring constant of a pneumatic spring, by a method wherein a communicating passage, communicated to a space between plural air chambers formed on the side where the rod of a damper is protruded, is formed, and a valve, varying the effective area of the communicating passage, is situated in the middle of the communicating passage. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic damper body 1 has a lower mounting bracket 2 secured on the axle side and a piston rod 3, a small part 3B at the upper end of which is secured on the car body side. A shell 4 is positioned integrally with the piston rod 3, and a piston 5, capable of entering the shell 4, is secured to the middle part of a body 1. The piston 5 is airtightly coupled to the shell 4 by means of rubber 6, and an air chamber, partitioned into two chambers A and B by means of a separator 9, is formed between the two members 4 and 5. In this case, a cylinder body 10 is situated so as to intercommunicate the air chambers A and B, and a valve means, having a valve body 16 displaced by means of air flowing between the chambers A and B and varying the effective area of the communicating passage, is situated in the cylinder body 10.
