PURPOSE:To form an information processing unit low in manufacture cost and high in profitability and workability by selecting a dynamic address conversion by a dynamic address conversion means as to a prefix area. CONSTITUTION:A storage protection system changeover means 5 switching the storage protection system in response to the operating system and an area number selection circuit 6 selecting a memory area number of a prefix number and transferring the result to a storage protection means 4 based on a switching signal from the storage protection system switching means 5 in receiving a detection signal from a prefix area detection circuit 1, are provided. In switching the means 5, in an information processing unit having a hardware to execute the operating system adopting a ring number protection system,the operating system using the access key protection system is executed by applying dynamic address conversion to the prefix area without the addition of a new register at each page of the prefix area.
