PURPOSE:To previously prevent the titled printer from printing deviation in a horizontal scanning direction and that in a paper feeding direction at the time of multiplex printing and to obtain a clear multiplex image by varying the rotational speed of a photosensitive drum or the scanning speed of laser beams scanning the photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:Prior to the 1st printing, a printer control means 41 executes selection for sending a signal with reference frequency fx1 from an oscillator 1a in an oscillating circuit 1 to a motor control circuit 48 and also executes selection for sending a signal with reference frequency fy1 from an oscillator 2a in an oscillating circuit 2 to a scanner motor control circuit 45 to start the 1st printing sequence. After checking the end of the 1st printing and the complete end of image transfer from the photosensitive drum 17, the means 41 executes selection for sending a signal with reference frequency fx2 from an oscillator 1b in the oscillating circuit 1 to the motor control circuit 48 and also executes selection for sending a signal with reference frequency fy2 from an oscillator 2b in the oscillating circuit 2 to the circuit 45 to execute the 2nd printing.
