PURPOSE:To increase the number of processings per hour by holding reaction vessels to two holders and transferring the same to the other holder in a prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:A sample vessel 1 in a cassette 2 is transferred to the position (a) and after a specimen is sucked with a pipette 4 wherein, the specimen is dispensed into the reaction vessel 5 of an outer holder 10 at the position (b). The vessel 5 is intermittently transferred to the position (d) where a reagent is dispensed therein with a pipette 6. The vessel 5 which is kept held by the holder 10 is thereafter intermittently transferred to the position (f) where the vessel 5 is transferred to the inner holder 20 by means of an exchanger 30. The vessel 5 is intermittently transferred in the direction opposite from the direction where the holder 20 is rotated. At the position (g), the reagent is then dispensed into the vessel with a pipetter 6' and after the vessel is subjected to stirring in the position (i), the reaction state is colorimetrically measured by an instrument 7. The vessel 5 is transferred to a device 8 and is cleaned. The vessel is transferred from the holder 20 to the holder 10 in the position by an exchanger 40 and is moved to the position (b).
