METHOD FOR APPLYING URETHANE RESIN PAINT

PURPOSE:To obtain a high quality film having an increased thickness and a proper drying curing speed, by spraying a liquid curing catalyst into air for atomizing urethane resin paint in a mist form and performing painting while the paint is contacted with the curing catalyst simultaneously with the atomization of the paint. CONSTITUTION:The liquid curing catalyst such as sprayable liquid amines containing tertiary amine supplied from a curing catalyst tank is controlled to proper quantity in a painting booth 6 by a flowmeter 11 and a control valve to be sent to a mixer 10 by a curing catalyst supply hose 14. Then, said curing catalyst is dispersed in air having predetermined atomizing pressure supplied from a paint atomizing air supply hose 2 in a mist form in a mixer 10 to be supplied to a painting gun 1 and the urethane resin paint supplied from a paint supply hose 3 is atomized by air containing the curing catalyst. An article 5 to be painted having a film thus formed thereto is allowed to stand at about room temp. in a standing chamber 13 and dried.
