摘要 Method of both machine-related and material-related quality control in the shot-peening of metallic surfaces with repeated use of series of test platelets of different thicknesses from the material of the component to be shot-peened. The platelets are shot-peened on one side under constant conditions and their deflection is graphically plotted as a function of the platelet thickness. The method is refined by plotting the product f.H<3> as a function of H, where f = deflection, H = platelet thickness. In this case, the curves produced are straight lines, which makes quality control simpler. Abscissa section H0 = a measure of the depth of penetration and slope dimension s = a measure of the size of the internal stresses in the shot-peened surface layer. Deviations from the set values are recognised by measured points falling outside the range of spread. <IMAGE>
