PURPOSE:To discriminate a target object from its background based on the picture signal obtained from a sensor by setting an electromagnetic wave attenuating means consisting of a polarizing filter at the front of the sensor on which the electromagnetic wave is made incident. CONSTITUTION:The infrared rays serving as the electromagnetic wave received from a target object and its background pass through a dome 1 and then a polarizing filter 7 and the reflected infrared rays received from the polarized background are attenuated. These infrared rays pass through a lens group 2 and are converted into a CCD image sensor 3. These picture signals are processed by a navigation control arithmetic unit 5 to be turned into the flying object control signals and supplied to a steering servo 6 to change the movement of the flying object.
