PURPOSE:To obtain a mat-like glass-fiber board having high strength, rigidity and heat-insulating characteristics, by pressing a laminate consisting of a central core layer comprising a mixture of a foamable urethane resin and a glass fiber and a mat-like glass fiber to a specified thickness under heating and by molding it under heating and foaming while it is being depressurized and recovered to a specified range of thickness. CONSTITUTION:A central core layer of a laminate of three layers is constituted of a mixture of a foamable urethane resin and a glass fiber where 100pts.wt. of the glass fiber component and 25-100pts.wt. of the foamable urethane resin are almost uniformly mixed and the glass fiber component in the central core layer is in the range of 1-50kg/m<2>. The content of a glass fiber in each layer of an upper and a lower skin layers is 5-40wt% of the glass fiber component of the central core layer. The laminate is pressed to 30-3% of the thickness as before pressing while heating in such an extent that the central core layer is not foamed. Then, the laminate is molded under heating and foaming while it is depressurized and recovered to a thickness which is 104-150% of the pressed thickness. An excellent glass fiber board having a mat-like layer can be thus obtained by a pressing operation and a molding operation under heating-foaming. |
