PURPOSE:To improve mechanical strength and to obtain a sensor having a high response speed by putting silicone rubber having high flowability into a temperarily molding tool, molding the same to a clay state, and putting the molding into mated molding tools, then forming the sensor by prescribed stages. CONSTITUTION:The silicone rubber having the high flowability is put into the temporarily molding tool to temporarily mold the clayey temporary molding having the hardness with which a desired shape such as sheet or semi-circular shape can be maintained. Such temporary molding is put into a pair of the upper and lower mated molding tools and a temp. sensor element 9 connected to the top end of a cabtyre cord 10 is imposed atop the temporary molding put into the lower molding tool in such a manner that the cabtyre cord 10 faces the cabtyre cord housing recess formed to the molding tool. The upper molding tool is put on the lower molding tool and the mating faces of both tools are brought into tight contact with each other. Heat is applied to the upper and lower mated molding tools to cure the silicone rubber therein. The molding is thereafter taken out of the molding tool and is subjected to finishing, by which the temp. sensor for water is obtd.
