In a device for adjustment of the pivotable mattress head and foot part of a piece of lying furniture, provision is made for a base plate on which two pivot arms, which can be connected in each case to one of the mattress parts, are articulated about a common shaft, on the one first pivot arm there is articulated a support which has notches and cooperates with a locking bolt fixed to the frame, and the other, second pivot arm can be releasably secured in its high position. To simplify and reduce the cost both of manufacture and assembly, it is proposed that a support (11), similar to the support (5) of the first pivot arm (2), is articulated on the second pivot arm (3) at a distance from its articulation pin (4), said support (11) is arranged approximately in the same direction, in respect of its direction of movement, as the direction of movement of the support (5) of the first pivot arm (2), furthermore the support of the second pivot arm (3) has at least one notch (13) open on the long side and, with the long side having the notch, is laid against a second locking bolt (12) fixed to the frame. <IMAGE>
