<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a high quality element of which the function is not lowered even by the use thereof in a high humidity atmosphere, by reacting a polymer having a pyridyl group with dihalogenated hydrocarbon under heating to form said polymer into a crosslinked type molecular structure and covering an electrode with the crosslinked polymer. CONSTITUTION:A polymer having a pyridyl group, for example, poly-4-vinyl pyridine and dihalogenated hydrocarbon, for example, 1,4-dibromobutane are dissolved in a methanol solvent and the resulting solution is applied to the good opposed electrodes of an alumina substrate so as to stradle both electrodes and heated. The pyridyl group of the polymer and dibromobutane are crosslinked by said heating to form a polymer represented by formula and this polymer is used as a humidity-sensitive film to cover the electrodes. Because the electrodes are covered with the humidity-sensitive film of the crosslinked pyridyl group-containing polymer, this humidity-sensitive element can be used in a wide range of a humidity region without causing the lowering in capacity.</p> |
