PURPOSE:To provide a mordant superior in mordanting performance and capable of maintaining a mordanted dye in a stable state against light by using a polymer composed of specified repeating units. CONSTITUTION:The photographic element contains the polymer composed of the repeating unit represented by formula [I] and the repeating unit represented by formula [II], and in these formulae, each of R1-R5 is H or alkyl; R6 is a divalent hydrocarbon group; R7 is H, alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl; A is a divalent bonding group linking through C to a main chain; n is 1-30; L is a divalent bonding group; and p is 0 or 1, thus permitting the obtained mordant to be superior in the mordanting performance, and to maintain the mordanted dye stable against light and wet heat for a long term. |
