PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for changing coil width in the middle of rolling and to improve roll consumption by subjecting wide flange beam which is rolled by an intermediate universal mill to the expansion of the inside width of the web by a screw down device for round parts of fillet, then to final finish rolling. CONSTITUTION:The wide flange beam A rolled by the intermediate universal mill is grasped when flange parts 1 are pressed by a screw 10e which is actuated by a motor 9e by a vertical roll 15. The round parts 3 of the web 2 are subjected to the expansion of the inside width of the web 2 when the web part 2 is grasped by pressing of the rolls 8 for rolling the round parts by the screws 10c, 10d of beams 13a, 13b actuated by motors 9c and the rolls 8 in contact with the round parts are shifted to the right and left by the rotation of right and left inverse screw shafts 10a, 10b by motors 9a, 9b. The need for the conventional stage for changing of the width of intermediate universal rolls is eliminated by such expansion of the inside width and the finish rolling is executed by the final universal rolls. The roll consumption is, therefore, considerably reduced. The rolls 8 are changeable to have adequate roundness by notches 19. |
