The display comprises a system of line deflection coils and a system of field deflection coils. The colour picture tube neck accommodates an electron gun system for producing three coplanar electron beams, a central beam and two outer beams. The system of field deflection coils is provided on the gun side with two plate-shaped elements of a soft-magnetic material located at a distance from each other in the circumferential direction of the neck of the tube. The elements each have a neutral position in which the distance between the centres of each element and the outer beam is equally large.
