A magnet-actuated valve, in particular a directional spool valve, with at least one actuating magnet which has a housing, a magnet armature and also a magnet plunger arranged so as to be movable in a reciprocating manner in a longitudinal bore of the housing, the valve having a housing and a valve piston which can be actuated by the magnet plunger and can be moved in a reciprocating manner in a longitudinal bore of the valve housing, characterised in that, to reduce the noise emission when the magnet armature strikes the yoke or the housing of the magnet, damping means are provided which dampen the magnet armature only in the final region of the piston stroke.
