PURPOSE:To accurately and automatically measure the characteristic of a test solution within a short time, by constituting the titled stalagmometer so that the number of the liquid droplets of the test solution falling from a liquid droplet forming part, the interval thereof and the particle size of each liquid droplet are detected and operated. CONSTITUTION:A spherical recessed part 9 is formed on the leading end of the conical projection 8 faced to a space 7 and a test solution is supplied to said recessed part 9 from a supply tank 15 and the falling of the liquid droplet formed to the recessed part 9 is observed from four piercing holes 21. The particle size of each liquid droplet is measured by a lamp 32 and a photoarray 35, and the number of liquid droplets and the interval thereof are measured by a light emitting diode 22 an the output thereof is inputted to an operator. The gap between the annular edge 10 of the recessed part 9 and a globule 19 is regulated to be fitted to the viscosity of the test solution. Therefore, the surface tension, viscosity and concn. of the test solution can be accurately and automatically measured on the basis of the detection values of the particle size of each liquid droplet, the number of the liquid droplets and temp. within a short time.
