PURPOSE:To make it possible to smoothly start at engine, by delivering a control signal for spark-advancing the ignition timing to an ignition device during starting of the engine if the temperature of the engine detected before starting of the engine exceeds a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:An electronic engine control unit 76 receives signals from temperature detecting means 34, 40 for detecting the temperature of cooling water, intake-air, fuel, lubrication oil and the like, an engine start detecting means 5 and the other sensors. Further, an ignition control means delivers a control signal for spark-advancing the ignition timing to an ignition device 78 during starting of the engine, when the temperature of the engine detected by the temperature detecting means 34, 40 before starting of the engine, exceeds a predetermined value. thus, it is possible to smoothly start the engine, and to obtain a sufficient engine power.
