In a casting installation, comprising casting mould conveyors (1) with independently movable mould cars (2) and casting car (4) with casting ladle (5), which are each equipped with their own drive (10, 11) and can temporarily be moved along synchronously with respect to one another, preferably on parallel rails (7, 9), a plurality of mould cars (2) are braced with one another by a driven clamping system (12) and can be moved along in a controlled manner, the casting car (4) being mechanically coupled to the clamping system (12) and/or to the mould cars (2) during the synchronous running in order to permit temporary absolute synchronous running between casting car (4) and mould (3) by simple control mechanisms, it being possible to use an unsophisticated control which is also not liable to malfunction in tough foundry operation. <IMAGE>
