摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent increase in internal pressure and hydrogen leakage and to obtain large capacity and long life by specifying the content of Ce in a rare earth group hydrogen storage alloy constituting a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode is made of a rare earth group hydrogen storage alloy comprising two or more rare earth elements containing Ce. The content of Ce is specified to 0.1-12wt% based on the total amount of rare earth elements. By especially specifying the content of Ce to 0.1-8wt%, the life of a battery is moreover increased. The formula 1 shows preferable ingredient of the rare earth hydrogen storage alloy for the negative electrode.
