In a method for heating and vaporising or evaporating a liquid by solar energy, the liquid, by means of an absorbent nonwoven web, is brought into contact with the lower side of the absorber surface of a solar collector and partly vaporised or evaporated by the heat given off by the absorber surface. The vapour is transported by its own pressure to a cooling surface and condensed there. The condensate and the residual liquid are then conducted away separately from each other.
